Murray Mine Stibnites

Welcome to my gallery of stibnite specimens from the famous Murray mine, located in the Independence Mountains, Elko County, Nevada. From 1998-2001, this mine encountered pockets containing the finest and largest stibnite prisms from North America. Since then, no more quality specimens have been encountered. My supply of these is sporadic, and I am always looking for more quality specimens. Enjoy my selection!  SCOTT 

            Murray Stibnite #1,           6.3 x 1.3 x 0.6cm,  $15

A complex growth of bright, unterminated stibnite crystals with small patches of quartz-crystal druses. The back is cleaved, with a hint of re-healing.

          Murray Stibnite #2,           4.5 x 1.0 x 0.7cm,  $25 

A nice, crudely terminated small miniature showing a bright, 3mm-wide stibnite prism with quartz druses at the base

Murray Stibnite #3, 4.0 x 2.5 x 0.6cm, $30

A bright, "V" shaped group of stocky, unterminated stibnites with sparkling quartz druse.  The larger crystal shows a bit of "glide-plane" twinning.  Order Here

A bright, striated, unterminated stibnite prism with some quartz druse.

       Murray Stibnite #5,                6.0 x 0.7 x 0.6 cm, $40

A pleasing, crudely-terminated stibnite with good quartz druse coating on one side. Another smaller stibnite angles off of the termination.

Murray Stibnite #8, 8.0 x 1.5 x 0.8cm, $75

A very attractive specimen consisting of a bright, 7cm, unterminated stibnite prism with another 3.8cm stibnite crossing near the tip. The lower end of this crystal is crudely terminated. And then sparkling white quartz druse coats a portion of this junction.  Order Here

A large, bright, unterminated stibnite blade with a slightly healed cleave on the back.

Murray Stibnite #11, 9.5 x 3.5 x 2.0cm, $150  *NEW*

A beautiful and large stibnite cluster for the Murray mine, showing the classic quartz-drused barite crystals
on the back side.  The longest stibnite is over 7cm and shows a crude termination.  Barite crystals range up to 5mm. There is no damage or contacting to this
specimen, which looks better in person.

*ON HOLD*

An unusually long and beautiful *terminated* stibnite prism from the Murray mine, showing some
of the classic quartz-drused barite crystals on the back side.  There is a bit of left side contacting, as seen in the pix, but nothing bad.  This is a great American stibnite!
