This now-famous crystallized gold district is located about
45 minutes east of where I live in Washoe County, Nevada. It is one of my
favorite Nevada localities. I have the Rocks & Minerals magazine article
I published back in the Gold Issue, Jan-Feb 2004, on my web site for all to
enjoy!

with a 4.5 x 2.0cm surface covered by leafy gold wire nests, averaging
2mm thick, all on a quartz-crystal drused andesite matrix. This
is a choice specimen.

A nice toenail
specimen with a 1cm-tall, 0.8cm-wide"V" shaped gold
wire formation growing on the right-center of a 2.5 x 2.0cm nest
of gold. The quartz-drused matrix is a bit darker in color, making
for better contrast against the gold wires.
